Home to Mountain Creek Resort and Hidden Valley Ski and Tennis Club, there is always plenty to do in Vernon Township no matter what the season!  In addition to these resorts, Vernon is home to world class golf courses and lodging.

Besides commercial recreation, Vernon also features portions of Waywanda State Park and the city of Newark watershed.  

The 64-sqare-mile township is one of the largest in Sussex County.  During the summer, the population increases because of the many vacation homes in the township's lake communities.  The township also has its own park on Vernon Crossing Road.
